Three ways to take control of your energy costs
Whether you heat with oil, electric baseboards, natural gas or wood, the right answer depends on your home. We help you find it.

Rooftop solar
Make your own power, bank the surplus with your utility where net metering is offered, and use it later in the year. Add a battery if backup matters to you.
Solar for your home
Cold-climate heat pumps
Efficient heat in January and cooling in July. A strong fit for homes on oil or electric baseboards.

What is open, what has closed, and where to check
Several well-known programs, including the federal Canada Greener Homes Loan and Nova Scotia's SolarHomes rebate, are now closed to new homeowner applications. Others are open, and a new federal heat pump rebate has been announced. We keep a plain-language summary, with a link to the official page for each program.
Frequently asked questions
Are you a utility or a government program?
No. We are an independent service, not affiliated with any utility or with the Government of Canada. We connect homeowners with licensed, independent installers in their area.
What does it cost to find out if my home qualifies?
Nothing. The quiz and the call with a licensed installer are free and come with no obligation.
Will someone come to my door?
No. We never do door-to-door sales. We only call the number you give us, and only after you ask us to.
What incentives are available right now?
It changes, so we keep a dated summary on our Incentives and programs page with a link to each official source. You may qualify for some programs, subject to eligibility; your installer will confirm what applies to your home at the time of your project. We never promise an incentive amount.
What happens after I take the quiz?
A local advisor reviews your answers and calls you. If your home looks like a fit, you get a free estimate for your roof and your bill. If solar or a heat pump does not make sense for your home, we tell you. You decide, with no pressure.
Who does the installation?
A licensed, insured installer based in your region. Your contract is with the installer, who also handles the electrical permit, the inspection and the utility connection steps.
